A school on Excel and WhatsApp
My brother has run Blast Surf School for ten years. Bookings lived in an Excel sheet, student levels in a shared Drive, and coach coordination in a WhatsApp thread. We tried two off-the-shelf tools. The first took a commission on every booking. The second wasn't designed for how a surf school actually works. Every end of season, we went back to Excel.
Building the missing tool
Late 2024, I started writing Zenwave. The first priority: that my brother could take a booking from his phone, without a call or email to process afterwards. The rest — coach scheduling, passes, session notes, student portal — was added season by season, in response to concrete needs.
A product used every day
Zenwave has been running Blast Surf School since summer 2025 and is gradually being opened to other schools. No funding round, no imposed roadmap. One developer on the code, one instructor in the field, and feedback from the schools using it.
How we work.
No commission
Zenwave runs on a monthly subscription. Your sales bring us nothing else.
Your data is yours
Hosted in France, full PostgreSQL export on request, Airtable sync kept in place. You can leave whenever you want.
One person to talk to
You write to Fabien, you get Fabien on the line. Fixes ship the same day or the same week, depending on complexity.
